Little Dead Things

I got sick to death of making birdie charms over and over... this is how I vented :)

Dia de los Muertos

It's no mystery to anyone who knows me that I'm a horror nut. If it's creepy, I love it! So it's to no surprise that I got married on Halloween day, in beautiful Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. We had a Halloween & Day of the Dead themed wedding fully equipped with a jack-o lantern lined (beach) isle with mini tiki torches, and a sugar skull decorated archway. Here's a little peek:

And these were the wedding invitations I slaved over. Made from scratch with cast plaster... hollowed out and meticulously painted. The "invitation" part actually pulls out from the top of the skull in a scroll like fashion.

These little sugar skull themed necklaces are somewhat of a commemorative of that special day. The sugar skulls were a part of the first batch of original art that I offered in the shop in 2008. I've since updated this post to include some newer pieces. They continue to be one of my best sellers and I now carry them in just about every color under the sun.

Singin Tweet Tweet! Tweedily Tweet!

These new birdies replace one of the most requested items in my shop. When I asked my husband how he felt about the "new" birds, he told me the "eyelashes were too girly." ...To which I reminded him of the gender of my audience... *ahem*

Tikis & Mummies & Bats, OH MY!!!

I'm posting about these first because they're the newest and most exciting items I've added to my shop.

Inspired by a necklace I bought a couple of weeks ago, I became obsessed with large, antique cabochon pendants and just had to make my own. These gorgeous necklaces are handmade by me with lots of love and care and you or your lucky recipient will be sure to love it.

All of these are made with beautiful black onyx cabochons which rest in a silver-plated setting with an antiqued silver finish. Cut from natural black onyx rough, most of the cabochon material is dyed to assure uniform blackness. Extremely well-cut and polished.
Each piece is finished off with a sterling silver charm that I selected and a matching antiqued pewter studded toggle clasp. (note: anchor is pewter, not silver)

All the above necklaces can be purchased in my shop. Re-stocking of items depends strictly on availability of supplies.

Welcome Kats and Kittens!
